Ferriday — Police are asking for residents’ help to solve a robbery and two drive-by shootings that occurred over the holiday weekend.
A Ferriday Police Department representative said officers do not believe the robbery of the Circle K gas station and the two drive-by shootings that occurred early Sunday morning are connected, but that they were simply concurrent.
Little information is known about the two men who allegedly robbed Circle K at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday, but officers said the men accosted the store’s clerk as well as two customers who happened to be inside at the time.
One customer was struck over the head with a gun but received no lasting injuries excepting one laceration, officers reported.
As officers responded to the robbery, a second call came in and notified officers of a drive-by shooting on Georgia Avenue.
Police say they found one man who had been shot in his right hip on the scene when they arrived.
While investigating the shooting, officers received yet another report of a second drive-by shooting on Concordia Park Drive.
At that address, officers discovered a residence riddled with bullets. Only one person was injured — a woman who had been sleeping in her bedroom at the time and was grazed by one of the many bullets that embedded themselves in her bedroom wall.
Police say they believe the two drive-by shootings to be connected.
The injured man at the first shooting is still hospitalized, officers said, but the woman at the second shooting received no major injuries.
The Ferriday Police Department is asking anyone with knowledge of these incidents to contact them at 318-757-3606.
