Broadmoor customers deserve better

Residents living in the Broadmoor community have recently been plunged into third-world status lately thanks to a myriad of problems with the community’s private water system.

The most recent outage stopped water from flowing on Christmas Day and was out for approximately 24 hours.

That came after a water main in the system broke beneath a roadway that had to be excavated before the water line repair could be made.

The system has been under a boil-water notice since early November when problems with the system effectively shut down water for many in the area for days and days. Others that had water flowing experienced extremely low pressure.

The Christmas Day outage was the third large water system disruption since June.

Clearly either the system has been beset with a series of unrelated problems or the system has not been properly maintained and these problems are flowing forth as a result of neglect.

Either way, we hope residents will seek outside help from the state to understand what their rights are to demand improvement of the water quality and standard of service.

What those Broadmoor customers have been experiencing is unacceptable and needs to be fixed quickly.
