NATCHEZ — A Natchez businessman was arrested Sunday on an indictment for drug trafficking after authorities reportedly seized more than $250,000 worth of drugs from the man back in April.

Wilmer Howell “Dub” Rogers, 60, 58 Stirling Road, was released Sunday from the Adams County Jail on a $100,000 bond. Rogers is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Jan. 4 at the Adams County Courthouse.

A months-long investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office led to Rogers’ arrest in April. Deputies reportedly seized more than 21 pounds of medical-grade marijuana, 30 weapons and $3,550 cash from Rogers’ residence alone. They also searched numerous other properties owned by Rogers and in one day reportedly seized more than $250,000 worth of drugs and more than $25,000 in weapons.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said following Rogers’ arrest in April that authorities believed Rogers was selling the marijuana as a wholesaler after obtaining the drugs from a California grower.

Rogers’ arraignment will take place in Sixth District Circuit Court with Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson presiding.
