VIDALIA — A memorial service for Velton “Jimmy” Flint, 79, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at his residence, will be announced at a later date.   

Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Mr. Flint was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Mangham, La., the son of Alvin Ray Flint and Zennie Edwards Flint.

He was a proud, retired U.S. Navy veteran. He also enjoyed drinking his morning coffee while reading his newspaper.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Neba Dear and Jessie Stuart; and two brothers, Homer Flint and Huey Flint.

Survivors include one niece, Margaret “Maggie” Franks of Calhoun, La.; one great-nephew, Ronnie Taylor and wife, Lisa, of Mangham, La.; and a number of friends.
