NATCHEZ — Residents with ideas for Natchez’s next waste and recycling collection contract will likely soon have the chance for their voices to be heard.

City Planner Rico Giani came before the Natchez Board of Aldermen Tuesday to request the board hold a public forum to gather input from citizens and address any concerns they might have about the upcoming request for proposals (RFP) process.

Aldermen aim to publish an RFP, receive proposals and select the most beneficial offer within the next four months.

Giani tentatively said the meeting could be held at 5 p.m. this Tuesday in the City Council Chambers, though the city will likely make an official announcement when an exact time and date is set.
