Get ugly at NACHS holiday party

Remember that horrible Christmas sweater Aunt Edna gave you years ago? You know, the ugly one with the dancing reindeer on the front? Well, go to your closet, way back in the back, and drag it out! It’s time to make it even uglier! The Natchez-Adams County Humane Society is having their inaugural Ugly Christmas Sweater Party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 9 at 22 Club Drive, the home of Madison and Jason Lees. It is only $35 per person! The money raised from this event will go to help the sweet orphans at the NACHS! Did I mention there is a contest? That’s right, you could win a prize for your ugly sweater, but you had better make sure it’s really ugly! Rumor has it there have been some very ugly sweaters gifted around here!
While at the event, you may participate in the silent auction. There will be great items to bid on. One is from Turkey… You know, the country…not a turkey! Speaking of food, there will be fabulous hors d’oeuvres prepared by Teresa Mullins and other local cooks. They are even making ugly sweater cookies and an ugly sweater cake! There will also be a cash bar!
Christmas is the season of giving, and what better time is there to give an orphaned pet a new home? If you are ready to welcome one into your home, please go by the shelter at 475 Liberty Road in Natchez, or log on to natchezpetadoptions.org and click on the adoption process to see how to accomplish this. Then scroll to the bottom of the page to click on adoptable dogs or cats to see who is available! If a pet is not in your immediate future, then please consider donating items that will help ensure the orphans have a nice holiday. They are always in need of litter, bleach, and food; or just give cash and let their caregivers decide what is most needed!
Now, if you are one of the lucky ones without an Aunt Edna to buy you ugly sweaters, never fear… Paws for a Cause has plenty to choose from! Come on by and snag one today! By the way, you are not limited to wearing a sweater. Since we live in the Deep South, chances are it could still be a tad warm, so any shirt will do—as long as it is decorated in the tackiest of Yuletide spirits!
It’s time to get ugly for the animals, and what better way is there than to get all of the ugly in one place for a special night of fun and laughter? Remember, we will be laughing with you…not at you! Mail your checks now to P.O. Box 549, Natchez, MS 39401 to secure your spot for the most outrageous party of the year!
See you on the 9th in your most Ho, Ho, Ho-rrific Christmas attire!
