FERRIDAY — Services for Willie B. Edwards Jr., 81, of Ferriday, who died on Nov. 22, 2017, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at Concordia Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Wilson officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Edwards was born on Dec. 1, 1935, in Monterey, the son of Willie and Amanda Edwards. He was retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service including a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. He was also a retired correctional officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Willie B. Edwards, III; and one brother, Ernest Raymond Edwards.

He is survived by one son, Chris Edwards, of Ferriday; three sisters, Sadie Fletcher, of Atlanta, Lula Grayson of Ferriday and Suebretta Edwards of West Covina, Cal.; one sister-in-law, Ann Edwards of Los Angeles, Cal.; and two grandchildren.
