NATCHEZ — Services for Claudia Clay, 75, of New Orleans, who died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.    

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Clay was born Sept. 11, 1942, in Natchez, the daughter of Freddie Williams and Floria Hawkins Williams.

She attended Sadie V. Thompson High School and enjoyed cooking.

Ms. Clay was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carlos W. Williams; one grandson, James Gresham; two sisters, Laura W. Dunmore and Barbara Williams; and one brother, Fred Williams Jr.

Survivors include one son, Victor C. Williams and wife, LaTanya, of New Orleans; 12 grandchildren; one godchild, Jermane Ashley of Byram; special friend, Erma “Ma Puddie” Thomas; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
