NATCHEZ — Tommie Queen was released on a $60,000 bond Thursday afternoon.

Queen bonded out immediately after Judge Patricia Dunmore set his bond Thursday.

“Whenever the judge set the bond, he was out,” Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.

Patten said Queen had a bail bondsmen who acted as surety on his bond.

Queen was being held in the Adams County Sheriff’s Office on 50 counts of felony dog fighting with a bond of $50,000, one count of receiving stolen property with a bond of $5,000 and one count of animal cruelty with a $5,000 bond.

Felony dog charges, according to Mississippi law, can incur a bond of up to $5,000.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office found more than 56 dogs on Queen’s property Monday night in a suspected dog fighting operation.

Officers found the malnourished dogs without water and with multiple wounds that had gone untreated.

Nine of the animals had to be euthanized because of life-threatening injuries.

Queen turned himself in but has maintained that he has no knowledge of the dog-fighting farm.
