NEW ORLEANS — Services for Raymond E. Calice Sr., 70, of Jonesville, formerly of New Orleans, who died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. at Branch Bell Baptist Church in New Orleans with the Rev. Ray T. Inglehart officiating.
Burial will follow at Providence Memorial Park Mausoleum in Metairie, La., under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home in Ferriday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church in New Orleans.
Mr. Calice was born May 25, 1947, in New Orleans, the son of Sherman and Olga Calice.
He was a retired city bus driver for the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) in New Orleans.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Baker Calice of Jonesville; three sons, Raymond Calice Jr. and Marvin Young, both of Dallas, and Kyren Calice and wife, Stacie; one brother, Sherman Calice and wife, Zenobia, all of New Orleans; two sisters, Melva Mercier and husband, Charles, of Kansas City, Mo., and Easter Canady of St. Louis, Mo.; four brothers-in-law, the Rev. Thess Baker Jr., Bob Baker and Henry Baker, all of Jonesville, and Huey Baker of Los Angeles; two sisters-in-law, Esther Baker and Mildred Baker Johnson and husband, Henry, all of Greensboro, N.C.; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
