Block earns second win of season, beats University Acadmey, 24-14

ALEXANDRIA, La. — The Block High School Bears got an all-around performance from Zorian Bowie as they defeated the University Academy of CENLA Lions 24-14 Friday night in an LHSAA District 3-1A game.
Bowie had 16 carries for 105 yards and one touchdown, went 7-for-10 passing for 123 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, and had 11 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery on defense.
The Bears scored on a safety in the first quarter and then had a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to go up 16-0 at halftime. University Academy (0-9, 0-5) made it a 16-8 game in the third quarter, but the Lions would get no closer.
Block (2-7, 2-3) closes out the regular season next Friday at 7 p.m. at LaSalle High School.
