RUSTON, La. — The Cedar Creek Cougars, ranked No. 1 in the Division IV power ratings and No. in the LSWA Division IV power ratings, took care of the Sicily Island Tigers 54-12 in an LHSAA District 2-1A game Friday night.
Cedar Creek (8-0, 5-0) jumped out to a 24-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and tacked on another 15 points in the second quarter for a commanding 39-0 halftime advantage. The Cougars led 46-0 before Sicily Island (3-6, 0-5) finally got a pair of touchdowns.
Sicily Island plays host to Oak Grove High School at 7 p.m. Friday.
