Versia was born Thanksgiving Day, Nov 26, 1964, the daughter of James Turner Sr. and Beatrice “Bobbie” Turner.

From a small child, she loved to entertain audiences by singing or dancing. She was often requested to sing at formal occasions.

An active member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. LeRoy White, she served as secretary of SS SWAT Team Youth Ministry and was a Sunday school teacher.

She was employed by Jordan Carriers as a recruiter.

Versia was preceded in death by her loving parents and her oldest brother, Arthur Lee Turner Sr.

Survivors include two brothers, James Turner Jr. of Lake Charles, La., and Jessie Ralph Turner and wife, Helen, of Natchez; two sisters, Joan Turner Clark of Natchez and Ardene “Trisha” Turner Wright and husband, Melvin, of Zachary, La., and her son, Chandler Raphael James Turner; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Heaven just received a soloist for the angelic choir. Gonna be some sweet sounds coming down on the night shift.
