NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Natchez man Wednesday on multiple drug charges and a stolen weapons charge.
Deputies with the office’s Special Operations Group executed a search warrant at the property of Cedric Carter and allegedly found Carter in his kitchen with approximately three ounces of cocaine next to him on the kitchen counter. Carter then reportedly dropped another ounce of cocaine in the trashcan.
ACSO reported that Carter complied with deputies and was brought into custody.
During a search of the residence, deputies allegedly found three sets of digital scales, a bottle of bottle containing 32 60-milligram codeine tablets not prescribed to Carter, a stolen Smith and Wesson .44-caliber magnum revolver, two grams of crack cocaine and four grams of cocaine.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten estimated a street value of the cocaine seized at just less than $8,000.
Deputies reportedly seized $370 in cash from Carter along with his Chevrolet Avalanche truck.
Carter was being held at the Adams County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen weapon, trafficking a schedule II drug (cocaine), possession of a schedule II drug (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute and possession of a schedule III drug (codeine) with intent to distribute. The three drug charges have a church zone and firearm enhancement.
