MEADVILLE — Services for Donald H. Tyson, 91, who died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 3 p.m. Friday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with the Rev. Lance Moak officiating.
Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Tyson was born May 31, 1926, in Bude, the son of William H. and Della Lazarus Tyson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bude. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He owned and operated Natchez Lumber Company for a number of years.
Mr. Tyson enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma Beard Tyson; and one brother, Billy Tyson.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Tyson and wife, Brenda, of McComb and William C. Tyson of Brusly, La.; one daughter, Lisa Tyson Lehmann of Natchez; five grandchildren, Chesney Tyson Wallace and husband, Chris, Yancy Lehmann and wife, Jill, Courtney Lehmann Savage, Brandt Tyson and wife, Chelsea, and Brennan Tyson; four great-grandchildren, Cody Lee, Christian Savage, Audrey Lehmann and Collin Lehmann; sister-in-law, Laura Tyson; special friends, JoAnn Grover and Paul Tullos; and a number of family and friends.
