Delta Charter can’t hold on against Delhi on the road, 34-24

DELHI, La. — The Delhi High School Bears outscored Delta Charter School 28-12 in the second half in their stunning 34-24 win over the Storm Friday night in an LHSAA District 2-1A game.
Delta Charter scored a touchdown late in the second quarter to go into halftime up 12-6 on a Delhi team that went into this game without a win. After Freddie Mango scored on a 63-yard fake punt run near the end of the third quarter, the Storm led 24-20.
But the Storm couldn’t hold on to the lead on the road as the Bears (1-5, 1-2) scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Delta Charter (3-3, 1-2) plays host to Tensas High School at 7 p.m. next Friday.
