NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Jane Henry Ford, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, in Sugarland, Texas, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Ford was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Church Hill, the daughter of Ike Henry and Luberta Dailey Henry.
She was a graduate of Jefferson County School District and furthered her education through nursing studies. Mrs. Ford was a retired private duty nurse. She was also a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Church Hill where she served as president of the church choir. Mary enjoyed sewing, music, watching westerns on television and talking on the phone with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ford Sr.; her parents; two sons, Ernest Lee Ford and Leonard “June” Ford Jr.
Survivors include one son, Bobby Ford Sr. and wife, Denise, of Natchez; one daughter, Betty Ford Washington and husband, Keith, of Sugarland; two daughters-in-law, Lillie Ford of Jackson and Stella Ford of Natchez; one brother-in-law, Tommy Davis Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
