FERRIDAY — Services for Jeraldine Townsend Harris, 62, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rosehill Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Eddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harris was born Sept. 30, 1952, in Ferriday, the daughter of Percy and Alma Jones Townsend.

She retired from Riverland Medical Center as a ward clerk. She was also a member of Rosehill Baptist Church where she served on the usher board.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Larry Townsend, Phillip Townsend and Estelle Glasper.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Townsend and wife, LaTonya, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Daniel Harris of Ferriday; two brothers, Aaron Jones of Warren, Ohio, and Willie Ray Townsend of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Alma T. Cooper and husband, Albert, and Gloria Jean Townsend, all of Ferriday; two grandchildren, Michael Townsend Jr. of Virginia Beach and Danasia Danielle Verbeck of Vidalia.
