NATCHEZ — A private family service for Arthur David Grimsley, 63, of Natchez, who died peacefully Monday, March 6, 2017, at the Hilltop Nursing Home in Alexandria, La., under the care of All Saints Hospice, was Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at the Natchez City Cemetery.
Born in Natchez, David was the son of Arthur and Judy Grimsley.
He was a graduate of Millsaps College. He taught school and coached sports for a number of years in Mississippi and Louisiana. David was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one sister, Melissa McKay and husband, Alex, of London, ON, Canada; two nieces, Katie Graham and husband, Stuart, of London and Beth McKay of Toronto, Canada; two great-nieces, Aila and Lexi Graham; and cousins in Austin, Texas, Holly, Fla., Natchez and Greenville.
David’s family is grateful to the many friends who went out of their way to care for him over the years. A special thanks to the Fresh Start Ministry in Winnsboro, La., and to Plantation Oaks Nursing Home in Wisner, La.
Memorial donations may be made to the Southwest Mississippi Mental Health Complex, Pleasant Acre Day School or to the Natchez Children’s Home.
