Fight ends with machete wounds for man

NATCHEZ — The weapon of choice in an apparent Thursday afternoon dispute was no simple kitchen accessory.
Natchez Police officers responded to the altercation between acquaintances on Aldrich Street to find one man with machete wounds.
James Bird, 55, was in his apartment with a laceration on his leg, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
Officers were called to the Williams Apartments scene at approximately 5 p.m.
Bird was transported by ambulance to Natchez Community Hospital, treated and released.
Larry Johnson, 56, 93 Aldrich St., was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault
Johnson also lives in Williams Apartments.
No bond will be set until arraignment.
Mullins said the attack occurred following an altercation.
