The Centreville Academy Tigers will put their two-game winning streak on the line Friday night when they host the Bowling Green School Buccaneers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Tigers (3-2) defeated Central Private School on the road last week, 54-35. While there were some things that offensive coordinator Will McNabb said he, head coach Bill Hurst and the rest of the coaching staff were pleased with, there was one thing that still needs to be fixed.
“Defensively, we’ve got to do a better job stopping the run. We couldn’t stop the run against Central Private,” McNabb said.
Bowling Green School (1-4) is coming off a 29-14 loss at Wayne Academy. However, McNabb said that the Tigers should not take the Buccaneers lightly.
“They’re well-coached. (Head) coach (David) Currier does a good job. They don’t have the talent they used to have, but he will have a good scheme for them,” McNabb said. “They’re probably better offensively. They return their quarterback from last year. They have some skill players who have a lot of speed.”
