FERRIDAY — Services for Martha “Sweetie” Pearl Perkins, 82, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ferriday with the Rev. John Pardue officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today with a rosary at 6 p.m., at the church. Visitation will continue Friday from noon until service time, also at the church.
Mrs. Perkins was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Monroe, La., the daughter of William McKenzie Seaman and Martha Coenen Seaman.
She was a resident of Lake St. John, a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a member of Bruin Vidal DAR. Sweetie loved gardening. She never missed a day sitting on her back porch watching the lake.
Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Hague Perkins Jr.; Her parents; and one brother, William McKenzie Seaman Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Hague Perkins III and wife, Lisa, of Alexandria, La., and William Perkins and wife, Willia, of Woodville; one daughter, Dorothy Renee Perkins of Lake St. John; one brother, Davide Seaman and wife, Cecile, of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Marguerite Ritsy Prince and husband, Keith, of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; two grandsons, William Brandon Perkins and wife, Janay, and Zachary Perkins and wife, Hillary; two granddaughters, Amanda Perkins and Megan Heffner and husband, Brett; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Pat Hazlip, William Coenen, Robert Manning Jr., Dr. Richard O’Donovan, Conner House, Brent Gore, Brandon Perkins and Zach Perkins.
