NATCHEZ — Services for James Charles Price, 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Promise Specialty Hospital, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Price was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Jefferson County, the son of Joseph Henry Price and Effie Scott Price.
He retired from International Paper Company after 45 years of service. Mr. Price was a lifetime resident of Mississippi and was a member and deacon at Cliff Temple Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine Thornton Price; and one sister, Eva Price Lehmann.
Survivors include two stepsons, Lawrence Neil Thompson of Warren, Ohio, and John Michael Thompson of the Kingston community; five grandchildren, Drew Lawrence Thompson of Hattiesburg, Blaire Thompson Grassel and husband, Jeremy, of Akron, Ohio, Cristofer Thompson and Yohan Thompson of Natchez, and Meida Thompson of Costa Rica; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and one sister, Sarah Goins of Buna, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Drew Thompson, Cristofer Thompson, Yohan Thompson, Dave Chapman, James Smith and William Baxter.
