NATCHEZ — A final suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged Sept. 7 robbery and assault of a 64-year-old pizza delivery driver.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Jerry Brown said Jumorris Pernell, 19, 307 Dumas Drive, turned himself in Wednesday afternoon after deputies reached out to Pernell’s family. Pernell was charged with robbery and simple assault.
Isaac Gatlin, 19, 105 Brooklyn Drive, and Kordell Summers, 19, 201 Lumber St., were charged Tuesday with robbery and simple assault.
Brown previously said Gatlin reportedly ordered a pizza on Sept. 7 to lure a pizza delivery driver to a vacant residence on Brooklyn Drive, allegedly with the intention of robbing the driver.
When the driver arrived at the residence, Gatlin reportedly asked the driver for change for a $100 bill. When the driver said he did not have change, Summers and Pernell reportedly jumped out of the bushes and assaulted the driver.
The driver suffered cuts and bruises from the assault, but no major injuries.
Deputies were reportedly able to identify Gatlin after concerned citizens came forward with information.
No money was taken during the robbery, but three pizzas were stolen.
Gatlin was in jail Thursday afternoon on a $50,000 bond.
Pernell and Summers are being held without bond pending arraignment.
