NATCHEZ — Services for mother Effie White-Woods, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Woods was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis White Sr. She attended Bisland School in Cannonsburg. She was employed by City Cleaners and was retired.
Mrs. Woods was Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Woods Jr.; her parents; and four brothers, Elijah White, Louis White Jr., Daniel White and Arie White.
Survivors include one son, George White and wife, Elsie, of Maryville, Tenn.; two daughters, Martha Robb and husband, Willie, of Edwards and Tammy Griffin and husband, Kenny, of Natchez; three sisters, Edna Holmes and husband, Edwin, and Mandy Green, all of Natchez, and Annie Dennis and husband, Harry, of Chicago; two brothers, L.V. White and Roosevelt White and wife, Annie, all of Natchez, and Ariculas White and wife, Hazel, of Chicago; one aunt, Annie Bell Stokes; two uncles, Monroe Turner and Elijah Turner; six sisters-in-law, Irene Baldwin, Rosie L. Woods and Thelma White, all of Natchez, Edna Harper and Florida Williams, both of LaPlace, La., and Eugenia Lewis of Dallas; two brothers-in-law, Monroe Woods and Roosevelt Woods, both of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Darrell White, Aaron White, Zasper Griffin and Sequitta Griffin, all of Natchez, Stepenson P. Robb of South Carolina, Shannon Howard of Jackson, Sheena C. Robb of Waynesville, Mo., and Kennitra E. Griffin of Hattiesburg; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
