NATCHEZ — An Adams County woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with an alleged May robbery.
Leslie Gibson, 108 Country Club Drive, was arrested on a warrant for robbery and was released on a $25,000 bond.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office investigator Maj. Jerry Brown said Gibson had been on the run for a while, but turned herself in Tuesday.
On May 27, in the area of the old Copiah-Lincoln Community College Natchez campus on U.S. 61 in Washington, Brown said the victim and a friend of his parked in the vacant parking lot.
When the victim exited the vehicle, the victim alleges two men attacked him, one hit the victim with a metal pipe and the other used a black pistol, Brown said.
Once the victim was on the ground, Brown said the assailants took approximately $1,500, which was in the victim’s pockets.
Brown said the men jumped in the vehicle, which was reportedly driven by Gibson.
The victim was ultimately airlifted to another hospital for treatment but was later released. He suffered several lacerations to the head.
Brown said more arrests are pending.
