The Franklin County High School Bulldogs are seeking their first win of the season, as they travel to take on the Seminary High School Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Friday.
Franklin County is coming off a 27-14 loss at home to South Pike in which the Bulldogs’
defense gave up 354 total yards of offense to the Eagles. FCHS’ offense was held to 189 total yards — 174 of them on the ground.
“We played hard. We worked hard. We played a lot better than the score showed,” Franklin County coach Trey Woodard said.
As for this week’s preparation, Woodard said he is looking to fix last week’s mistakes.
“We have to tackle better — don’t give up big plays, be more consistent on offense,” he said.
Woodard added he wants his team to remain focused within.
“It’s not about Seminary. It’s about us,” he said. “We’re just trying to get better each week.”
Last week, Seminary rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Class 2A newcomer Collins, 9-6. It won despite tallying just 173 yards of total offense and being penalized 13 times for 120 yards.
“Their defensive front is huge. Offensively, they’re disciplined and well-coached,” Woodard said.
