Ben Hillyer/The Natchez Democrat — The William Dunbar chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Monday afternoon at the antebellum house Rosalie to host a reception honoring Trinity Episcopal School student Mark Iles, who not only won a local award for his entry in the annual history essay contest, but also won a state award for his paper on the life of Paul Revere as written from Revere’s deathbed. William Dunbar chapter member Sarah Tillman congratulates Iles during the meeting Monday afternoon. The Natchez chapter of the DAR meets at 3 p.m. today to honor the six other local essay contest award winners, who will read their essays.
