NATCHEZ — Services for Rosie Marie “Madea” Butler Green, 94, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 28, 2017, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel No. 2, with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Natchez funeral home chapel and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Green was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Adams County, the daughter of Henry C. Butler and Cora Butler-Birdie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert Green Sr.; one son, Henry Earl Green; two siblings, Louis E. Butler and Mary E. Butler-Brim; one son-in-law, Willie H. Morris Sr.; and two daughters-in-law, Corrine R. Green and Ruthie L. Green.
Survivors include eight loving and devoted children, Richard J. Butler of Riverside, Calif., Ida G. Morris-Davis, Elbert Green Jr., Milton L. Green, Inez Green, Caroline Green, all of Natchez, Darnell Green and Eric J. Green, both of Houston; one goddaughter, Marie Conner of Houston; one godson, Clarence Green of Natchez; a special nephew, Luke Green; 30 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 49 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
