NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was arrested Tuesday on two counts of aggravated assault after allegedly firing shots into an occupied vehicle.

Police reported that officers responded to a shots fired call early Saturday morning at 49 East Franklin St., next to the Talk of the Town, where a man allegedly fired approximately four rounds into a van containing two bystanders — one woman and one man. The woman told police she did not see anyone firing a weapon.

Based on shell casings collected at the scene, police reported that the suspect was likely mere feet away from the vehicle when the shots were fired.

Police said no one on the scene suffered any injuries.

Witnesses parked alongside the vehicle that was struck by the gunfire also reported seeing a black female shooting from the Talk of the Town parking lot toward Club Paradise.

Antonio Keyon Johnson, 33, 6 West Woodlawn Ave., was arrested in connection with the incident. Police reported that more arrests could be made regarding the incident.
