The Louisiana Purple Sox split a pair of games Sunday at the Dixie Majors World Series at the University of Monroe.
The Vidalia-based team had an opportunity to sweep the day, but dropped its first game after three-run, seventh inning advantage slipped through its grasp, losing to Texas, 10-8.
The Purple Sox, however, rebounded in its second contest to defeat Virginia, 7-5.
Jake Barlow and Brock Farmer each launched homers in the opening game, while Lee Lancaster tossed four innings of two-earned run baseball in the nightcap.
Louisiana will attempt to remain alive at the tournament at 9 a.m. today when it faces the winner of North Carolina-Mississippi.
