NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Nell Byrd, 76, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Meadville Convalescent Home, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.  

Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Byrd was born Jan. 28, 1941, in Franklin County, the daughter of Hezekiah and Isophene Dee.

She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Hezekiah Dee Jr.; and one granddaughter, Triganda Dee.

Survivors include her husband, George Byrd; one son, Gary Byrd and wife, Samantha, of Circle Pines, Minn.; nine daughters, Carrie Chatman and husband, Jeffrey, Regina Dee, Jennifer and Florence Byrd, all of Bossier City, La., Ora Duck of Arlington, Texas, Joyce, Brenda, Shonette and Antionette Byrd, all of Natchez; her mother; two sisters, Thelma Collins of Springfield, La., and Ollie Allen of Chicago; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
