NATCHEZ — A vehicle overturned on the westbound lane of the Mississippi River bridge headed from Natchez to Vidalia and is causing traffic flow on the Natchez side to grind to a halt.

In Natchez, traffic is backed up to Canal Street and at least to the mall on John R. Junkin Drive.

Due to construction the westbound bridge is closed. Because of the construction, a concrete barrier has been placed between the lanes and traffic on U.S. 84 is in head-to-head formation on the eastbound bridge.
