VIDALIA — Services for Larry Louis Barnes Sr., 78, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.
Mr. Barnes was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Vicksburg, the son of Eugene Barnes and Annie Jones Barnes.
He was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church. He was a retired driller for a number of oil production companies.
Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia Barnes; one son, Randall Barnes; and two grandchildren, Mary Catherine Barnes and Jason Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Case Barnes; one son, Larry Louis Barnes Jr. of Natchez; two daughters, Annie Welch and Barbara Long, both of Natchez; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Freddie Case Jr. and Theresa Curlee of Vidalia; a number of step-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Brad Welch of Vidalia and Thomas Long of Natchez; and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Willard Barnes of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be Justin Barnes, Jonathan Long, Brady Welch, Josh Barnes, Kenny Brandburg and Harry Isabell.
