NATCHEZ — Services for Betty Lou Miller Chauvin, 85, of Natchez, who died July 16, 2017, at her residence, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ken Ritter officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Chauvin was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Natchez, the daughter of Louis Christian Miller and Ruth Estelle Stietenroth Miller.
She was a 1950 graduate of Natchez High School. She attended Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, where she was a Lockheart. She was a big fan of Mississippi State sporting events.
Mrs. Chauvin was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Civic and Welfare Community Club and the Pilgrimage Garden Club. She worked at International Paper Company for a number of years and later retired from the Adams County Chancery Clerk’s Office. Betty Lou and her husband, Bubba, will be remembered for their joy in dancing together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Emile “Bubba” Chauvin Jr.; and one sister, Ruth Marie Miller.
Survivors include one daughter, Lou Ann Chauvin Jordan and husband, Chandler, of Lake St. John; one son, Arthur Emile “Buddy” Chauvin III and wife, Debbie, of Lake Concordia; six grandchildren, Clayton Ross Chauvin and wife, Alexa, Chelsea Lee Craig and husband, Wyatt, Austin Blake Chauvin, Miller Chandler Jordan, Sarah Grace Jordan and Ashlyn Ruth Jordan; and one great-grandson, Easton R. Chauvin.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Chauvin, Austin Chauvin, Miller Jordan, Wyatt Craig, Stan Burkley and Lou Burkley
Memorials may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society or to Trinity Episcopal Church.
The family will receive friends at 109 Somerset Drive Thursday following the cemetery service as a continuation of our remembrance of Betty Lou Chauvin.
