FOULES, La. — Memorial services for Roy L. Watson, 72, of Eros, La., who died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Glennwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, La., will be 10 a.m. today at Sunnyside Baptist Church in Foules, La.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Watson was born Oct. 15, 1944, in Harrisonburg, La., the son of Chester W. Watson and Charlcy Ellis Watson.
He retired from Catahoula School Board in 2010, after more than 30 years of service as a school bus driver. He also did carpentry work most of his life and loved playing music with his wife and the Sundown Band.
Mr. Watson proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willie Watson, Dewey Watson and Chester Watson; and two sisters, Lorraine Parker and Jackie Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Glenda Eaton Watson; two sons, Lonnie Watson and wife, Sally, of Rhode Island and Todd Watson and wife, Debra, of New York; one daughter, Kimberly Hearn and husband, Kevin, of Colorado; one brother, Henry Watson of Sulphur, La.; two sisters, Thelma Poole of Jonesville and Mildred Smith of Clayton; and six grandchildren.
