NATCHEZ — Services for Tony Joseph Hughes, 22, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Very Rev. James P. Fallon, SSJ, officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Tony was born Dec. 15, 1988, in Natchez, the son of Albert and Sophronia Hughes. He attended Natchez-Adams School District and was employed by LaSalle Detention Facility as correctional officer in Jena, La.
Tony was Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph F. Hall; paternal grandparents, Albert and Sarah Hughes; and one cousin, Gabrielle Landry.
Survivors include his parents; grandmother, Naomi Hall; six siblings, Albert “Bert” Hughes and wife, Tamla, Brian Hughes, Sonny Larkins and wife, Jacqueline, Derrin Hughes, Darrius Hughes and Josh Walton; nine aunts, Valencia Hall, Angela Singleton and husband, Sammy, Marie Hall and Henry, Naomi Hayes, Ursula Hall and Vernon, Mamie Landry and husband, Kenneth, Linda K. Hughes, Lorriane Hughes and Mona Smith and husband, Alfred; two uncles, Mark Hughes and wife, Dejohnda, and Ibrahim Seki; godparents, Naomi Hayes and Toby Harris; other relatives, Alvin Kenny Barnes, Linda McCoy, Cartrell McCoy and Trenika McCoy; special friends, Chiquita Griffin and Caleb Tenner; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Albert “Bert” Hughes, Brian Hughes, Derrin Hughes, Sonny Larkins, Joseph Hayes, Sam Singleton, Josh Walton, Steven King and Darrius Hughes.
