WASHINGTON — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies patrolled near Wellborn Lane after residents reported hearing three gunshots at approximately 11:40 p.m. Monday.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Lt. Cal Green said the caller reported hearing three shots between her residence and the Shell gas station off U.S. 61 in Washington.

Green said deputies asked neighbors who reported hearing the same three shots, but the deputies were unable to find any spent casings. Green said no residents with whom deputies spoke saw who fired the shots.
