ROXIE — A memorial service for Glynn Edward Roy Sr., 65, who died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at the home of his mother at 7867 Mississippi 33 South, Roxie.

Mr. Roy born December 8, 1951 in Natchez, the son of Alvin D. Roy Sr. and Dorothy Willis Roy.

Mr. Roy was a Vietnam Army veteran and worked for Rayborn Drilling/Bluff City Asphalt for 30-plus years. He loved his constant companion, his dog Tinker.

Mr. Roy was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Lane and Pearl Roy and S.E. and Mary Willis.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Day Roy of Natchez; his mother, Dorothy Willis Roy of Roxie; a son, Glynn Edward E. Roy Jr. and his wife Lacy of Natchez; a daughter, Mandi Roy Benton James of The Woodlands, Texas; two brothers, A.D. Roy and wife, Pam, of Brandon and Butch Roy and wife, Susie, of Natchez; one sister, Patricia Roy Harvard and husband Jesse of Roxie; five grandchildren; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
