FERRIDAY — Nancy Carmen Davis Bayse, 62, of Vidalia and Del Rio, Texas, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez.
A private memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Ms. Bayse was born Aug. 31, 1954, in Jackson, the daughter of Vernon “Pedro” Davis and Lois Martin Davis.
She proudly served her country in the U.S. Army. After her time in the service, she worked as a correctional officer. She also was employed by Concordia Parish Correctional Facility until she moved to Del Rio. While living in Texas, she worked for Wakenut-GEO Corrections for six years, then went to work for Dismas Charities Inc., for five years.
Carmen loved her family and friends and was very close to her brother, Cecil. Her kind, Christian heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Elton and Edna Davis; maternal grandparents, Alvin and Lilly Martin; and one brother, Cecil L. Davis.
Survivors include two aunts, Charline McGraw of Yazoo City and Bobbie Cessna of Chesterfield, Mo.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dismas Charities Inc., at 1306 E. Gibbs St., Del Rio, TX 78840, St. Jude Children’s Home or The American Cancer Society.
