NATCHEZ — Services for Jack Stutzman, 57, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reed McCaleb and the Rev. Curtis Gibson officiating.

Burial will follow at Stutzman family plot in Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Jack was born Dec. 14, 1953, in Natchez, the son of Robert Evans Stutzman Sr., and Blanche Mae Beeman Stutzman.

He was retired from the Natchez Fire Department. During his school years he played on a number of All Star baseball teams. He was statewide DE Student of the Year. Jack was an avid reader, Trival Pursuit player and lover of Coca Colas.

Jack was awarded a medal from the Natchez Fire Department for saving the life of a woman, who was choking. This occurred during the funeral visitation for his father.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Evans Stutzman Jr.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Brashier of Heidelberg and Sandy Freeman and husband, David, of Natchez; four brothers, Jim Stutzman and wife, Lee, of Baton Rouge, Eddie Stutzman of Mesquite, Texas, Joe Stutzman and Chuck Stutzman and wife, Lisa, all of Natchez; 13 nieces and nephews including Jacob and Erica Stutzman of Jackson and Sara and Travis Strength of New Brockton, Ala.; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; and one daughter.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Stutzman, Jay Stutzman, Chad Stutzman, Danny Stutzman, Jacob Stutzman and Travis Strength.

Memorials may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society, the Washington Methodist Church or the Natchez Stewpot.
