NATCHEZ — Ann Turner Janette, our beloved wife, mother, and friend, died Sunday, May 21, 2017. A celebration of her life will be 2 p.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

The burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Janette was born on Dec. 29, 1959, in Pensacola, Fla. She graduated from Catholic High in Pensacola and received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
She was well-known in the Natchez community, particularly for her work for many years at the Natchez Democrat in advertising. Ann devoted a number of years as a volunteer at the Cathedral C Club. She had a love for cooking and enjoyed spending her free time cheering on the Cathedral  Greenwave and her beloved Blue Angels on the sandy beaches of Pensacola. In earlier years, she was an avid equestrian, showing Hunter-Jumpers all over the country.
Ann Janette is preceded in death by her parents, Filo and Diane Turner, and her mother-in-law, Betty Janette.

Survivors include her loving husband of 25 years, Ken Janette; her four children, Luke Janette and wife, Lynn, Michelle Skates and husband, Jeremy, and Turner Janette, all of Natchez, and Russell Barmer and wife, Crissy, of Bossier City; one sister, Marguerite White and husband, Rufus, of Woodstock, Ga.; three brothers, Filo Turner of Pensacola, Mark Turner of Loxley Ala., and Fred Turner of Pensacola; one brother-in-law, Jeff Janette of Lafayette, La.; six grandchildren, Halle Grace Janette, Audrey Janette, Ryan Skates, Ella Skates, Maddox Martinez, and Jace Barmer; three nieces, Hannah LeHaye, Elizabeth Janette and Diane White; and her four nephews, Trey White, Preston White, Garrett Janette and Harris Turner IV.
Pallbearers will be Colby Horton, Jeff Janette, Garrett Janette, Jeremy Skates, Ryan Skates and Rufus White.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Cathedral School.
