NATCHEZ — Services for Patricia L. Suggs, 78, of Fayette, who died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Wright and the Rev. Ted Suggs Jr. officiating.

A private family burial will be at Suggs Family Cemetery in Jefferson County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Suggs was born June 25, 1938, in Baker, Ore., the daughter of George William Hunter and Emma Myrtle Kessler Hunter.

She was a minister at Jefferson County Correctional Facility.

Mrs. Suggs was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Melinda Hunter; and one brother, Gilbert Hunter.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Thedford B. Suggs Sr.; six children, Theresa Beach and husband, Donald, and Vicky Ratliff and husband, Michael, all of Natchez, Janice M. Carter and husband, Thomas, of Clinton, Thedford Suggs Jr. and wife, Dedria, of Fayette, Michael Suggs and wife, Lisa, of Meadville, and Dan Wilson and wife, Kay of Portland, Ore.; 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jan Escobedo and husband, Juan, of Eugene, Ore.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Dr. Christopher Martin, the nursing staff at Merit Health Natchez, pre-op and ICU for their loving care.
