Education scholarships available

Retired Education Personnel of Mississippi will award two scholarships in each of its six districts.
As director of District 6, I encourage education majors from the counties of Adams, Amite, Copiah, Lincoln, Franklin, Lawrence, Marion, Pike, Walthall and Wilkinson to take advantage of this opportunity.
An applicant must have made a decision to become a teacher in Mississippi.
An applicant must be classified as at least a second-semester freshman in a state-supported community college or university with an above-average grade point average.
An applicant must be a resident of Mississippi and plan to continue his/her education in a state-supported community college or university.
The scholarship is awarded for one year or two semesters and may be renewed for one additional year. Each semester’s award will be $500 paid directly to the recipient.
Documents and applications must be post marked no later than May 3l.
