Natchez man arrested in Baton Rouge for beating girlfriend, stealing items

VIDALIA — A Natchez man was arrested in Baton Rouge Tuesday for allegedly beating his girlfriend in Vidalia and stealing from her.
Vidalia Police Investigator Clint Robinson said Damien K. Davis, 29, for two March incidents, one for reportedly making lewd comments about an ex-girlfriend on social media and also allegedly attacking his girlfriend and taking several items from her.
Robinson said in the first incident, Davis reportedly put a photograph of an ex-girlfriend up on Facebook and made lewd, degrading and ridiculing comments about the victim.
In the second incident, Davis allegedly chased his Vidalia girlfriend out of her grandmother’s house in Vidalia, reportedly beating her and taking her cell phone, watch and an undisclosed amount of cash. The phone is valued at $700 and the watch $140.
Davis was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office after an automated traffic camera took a photo of Davis’ license plate and authorities were alerted to pending warrants for his arrest in Vidalia.
Davis, 12 Phillip West Road, was charged with cyberstalking, felony theft and domestic abuse and battery.
Davis was released on a $18,000 bond.
