NATCHEZ — Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly recovered a stolen gun Wednesday during a traffic stop.
ACSO spokeswoman Lt. Cal Green said a deputy initiated a traffic stop on Bryan Keith Grinnell, 31, for allegedly driving without headlights at 9:14 p.m. near McLaurin Elementary School. Green said the deputy allegedly smelled marijuana, saw a child in the vehicle and reportedly noticed a revolver on the floor of the vehicle.
After calling for backup, the deputies removed Grinnell without incident.
During a search, deputies recovered the .38-caliber revolver. Then deputies allegedly recovered a 9 mm pistol that was reported stolen, Green said.
Deputies also reportedly recovered a glass jar and a baggie with approximately 350 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana and a medicine bottle with 2-and-a-half dose units of believed to be Xanax, along with a scale Green said.
Grinnell, 20 Elbow Lane, was charged with enhanced controlled substance violation due to the firearms, possession of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen firearm.
Grinnell was in the Adams County Jail Thursday with no bond set.
