Natchez-Adams County is truly unique with an abundance of natural and architectural beauty waiting to greet you around every corner. Part of what makes our community so special is the wonderful citizens and business owners who pride themselves in getting involved and working hard to make our community the best that it can be. We, as a community, thrive at entertaining the thousands of visitors who travel to Natchez-Adams County each year, and truly love to show off everything we have to offer.

In celebration of Earth Day, the City will be hosting Spring Cleanup 2017, this Saturday, April 22nd. We will get started at 8:00 AM and have 7 kick-off locations, which will be held at the voting precincts in each City Ward and in Memorial Park. This is a great opportunity for the citizens of Natchez-Adams County to show off their pride for the beauty of their homes and community. Also, at each kick-off location there will be free t-shirts to be given away to the participants on a first come first serve basis until they run out, as well as refreshments. To shake thing up a bit, there will be a scavenger hunt activity and $25.00 gift cards to be given out to the individual or group that collects the most trash.

The Aldermen will be hosting the kick-off in each of their Wards and will distribute cleaning supplies and information on how best to collect/dispose of trash and recyclables.  This will also be a chance for you to do a little spring cleaning! If you have any furniture, limbs or other NON-HAZARDOUS items that need to be gotten rid of, please place the items at your curbside and call Public Works (601-445-6652) or the County Road Department (601-445-7945) to schedule a time to pick these items up. Lastly, there will be dumpsters located at four locations throughout the city to collect NON-HAZARDOUS material.

Hazardous materials include gasoline, oil, aerosols, paint, batteries, and any other hazardous chemicals. The County will schedule a time later in the year to dispose of these items.

Coincidentally, April 22nd is also Earth Day, a celebration of our natural and physical environment. What better time to host a spring cleanup day than to have it on the day that we remember our one true home?

In the event of rain, we will postpone this event until Monday, April 24th!
