MEADVILLE — Services for Willie Oliver Green, 71, of Meadville, who died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Bunkley with the Rev. Anthony Wilcher Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the Bunkley Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Green was born Dec. 30, 1945, in Meadville, the son of Oliver Jack Green and Rosie Lee Weathersby Green.
He was employed by LTV Steel in East Chicago, Ind., for 30 years. He was also a loyal and active member of the Steelworkers Union.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rosie Cobb, Annette Green and Margie Green; and one brother, Jackie Green.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Taylor Green; five children, Vincent Hicks, Gina Jones, Antoine Green, Nicholas Green and Joycelyn Green; six siblings, Edward Green and wife, Mary, Mary Ann Green Huston, Ollie Mae Sneed, the Rev. Danny Green and wife, Inez, Carolyn Green Phelps and Evelean Green; 10 grandchildren, Courtney Hicks, Brittany Green, Blake Hicks, Deona Norris, Jamia Norris, Daryl Jones, Micah Jones, Gavin Jones, Braylon Green and Madelyn Green; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
