FERRIDAY — Services for Charles Eugene Brakenridge Sr., 82, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber and the Rev. Darryl Tate officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Brakenridge was born Oct. 27, 1934, in Hammond, La., the son of Eugene Augustus Brakenridge and Emily Stewart.
He was a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church and was the owner of Brakenridge Furniture, which he opened in 1961.
Mr. Brakenridge was preceded in death by his parents and Morris Galloway and Amelia Stewart Galloway who reared him after his parent’s death; his wife, Diane Cross Brakenridge; and two sisters, Lucille Galloway House and a three year old sister who died before he was born.
Survivors include one daughter, Anna Brakenridge Ferguson of Ferriday; one son, Charles E. Brakenridge Jr. and wife, Georgeanne, of Ferriday; two grandsons, Charles E. Brakenridge III and Samuel Curtis Ferguson Jr.; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Lansing Brakenridge; and one sister, Jean Rabb; and two sisters-in-law, Lydia Wilson and Kay Faulkner.
Pallbearers will be Midget Brown, Mike Rabb, Morris Rabb, Wayne Wilson, Neil Faulkner Jr., Charles E. Brakenridge III, Noah Wilson and Samuel Ferguson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Brame, Bob Hemeter, Randy Lloyd, Paul Foster, Adrian Foster, Scott Smith and Dan Erwin.
