PETAL — Services for the Rev. Gerald P. Buckley, 80, of Petal, who died Tuesday, March 27, 2017, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Petal Harvey Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
A graduate of Hattiesburg High School and Mississippi College, Mr. Buckley was also a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. After graduating from seminary, he went on to minister at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Gretna, Va., West Heights Baptist Church in Pontotoc, Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez and Petal Harvey Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Buckley; two sons, Steve Buckley and wife, Kristi, of Petal and Stan Buckley and wife, Jewell, of Madison; and five grandchildren, Adam, Neal, Slade, Anna and Annaleigh Buckley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Petal Harvey Building Fund or But God Ministries.
